  • Coffee from Sidama (or Sidamo) is grown in the Great Rift Valley. Inhabited by the Sidama and Oromo tribes, the area is dotted with fresh water lakes. Most of the coffees in this region are processed at Hawassa, a major town fast growing in population and development. Varying soil types, the countless heirloom varietals and the practice of pooling their coffee at a cooperative by farmers, account for a rich diversity in flavour.

Washed Sidama coffees often retain a salient fruity characteristic, while displaying more clarity and brightness than their unwashed counterparts.
